The Fullbright Scholarship enables graduate students, scholars, researchers, and artists from abroad to study in the United States. The Scholarship spreads across 160 counties worldwide and is administered by Binational Fullbright Commission/Foundation or U.S. embassies. These offices process all foreign applications.

To be eligible for the grant, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must hold their national passports.
- Applicants must possess outstanding academic records with proficiency in the English language.
- Applicants must demonstrate high commitment and motivation to complete their studies at a scheduled time and be ready to return home after the program.
- Applicants with solid research objectives, methodology, timing and proposals hoping to conduct the research in the U.S. would be shortlisted for interviews.
- Applicants must write their TOEFL exams or standardized tests ( TOEFL: a score of 90)

To prepare for the Fullbright scholarship, candidates must gather relevant materials to help the USEFP assess their qualifications. Notably, you must submit your materials alongside your application.
Candidates must submit their academic transcripts for 4-year undergraduate degrees or equivalent – these equivalent programs include international three-year bachelor programs or ACCA. Doctoral applicants must also submit their MPhil or M.S. degrees and transcripts.
Final-year students are encouraged to apply only if their degrees can be provided in or before December this year.
Irrespective of your result, the Fullbright Scholarship doesn’t segregate based on CGPA but only emphasizes solid academic records.
Prospective candidates must be ready to submit their GRE of 138 for verbal and 136 for quantitative, as required. Even if you take the GRE score multiple times, it is advisable you report your best score, and Fullbright would only look at that score.
However, TOEFL is not required at the time of the application. It will be requested when you are called for an interview. IELTS is not acceptable.
The Fullbright Scholarship requires two essays from applicants, each to be supplied in the space provided in the application form. Writing concisely and simply for the application reviewer to understand your message better is advisable.
Candidates must have three recommendation letters submitted alongside their applications. You may have three academic reference letters or two academic and one professional. This means that one academic reference letter must be submitted. Referees must also fill out the reference forms provided in the application document, which would require them to sign and stamp.
Candidates should be prepared to submit up-to-date resumes in the application forms. There is no particular format.
