2023/2024 GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders to study in the United Kingdom

In the GSK scholarships, three (3) scholarships are provided to fund the training and growth of
the following generation of leaders in international health and strengthen the capability of health
systems and health-associated research in Africa. These highly competitive scholarships are
accessible to candidates planning to study in a one-year, full-time, London-based (face-to-face)
Master’s program at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Qualification Prerequisites for the GSK Scholarships.

To be qualified for these scholarships, recipients have to:

• be nationals of, and citizens in, countries in sub-Saharan Africa; and
• plan to go back to sub-Saharan Africa on fulfillment of their Master year at LSHTM; and
  Ascertain that they would not otherwise be able to pay for the proposed program of study by
  presenting the Supplementary Questions Form; and
• fulfill LSHTM’s minimum English language prerequisites; and
  have a first degree at either a first or upper-second-class equivalency level, and
• hold an offer of admission for 2023 to 2024 for one of LSHTM’s 19 London-based intensive
  Master’s programs of study.
• Preference will be provided to candidates who demonstrate (in their application documentation)
  the to make substantial contributions to public health and/or health-related research in Africa.

Advantages

Three scholarships are obtainable for the 2023- 2024 educational session. Each scholarship will
cover

• education expenditures, comprising any compulsory field trip payments, and
• a tax-free allowance (living allowance) of GBP 19,500.00.

Method of Application

The application procedure has two phases. To be considered for the allocation, recipients have
to fulfill all eligibility measures and complete both steps delineated below by the scholarship
closing date of 23:59 (GMT) on Wednesday 01 May 2023.

Stage One: Submit an application for 2023-2024 for a London-based Master program of study,
as per instructions beneath the ‘How to Apply’ tab on the applicable program of study page.

Stage Two: Present an online scholarships, choosing this scholarship alternative
‘2023-24 GSK Scholarship for Future Health Leaders’ from the drop-down menu. A conducted
Supplementary Questions Form for this scholarship must be uploaded as part of this
application. This is the only attachment required in Step 2 (as candidates should have already
presented references; transcripts; a curriculum Vitae etc with their application for study).
